The Q=Base II tripod quick release provides a rapid snap-lock alternative to users of Arca-Swiss, Graf, Kirk and similar plates. Pressing the plate down immediately secures it, but allows some sliding lateral adjustment, before a short turn of the side lever locks it solid. Novoflex Q-plates also align with the spring-loaded safety pin (which retracts with other makers' plates). This enables safe one-handed attachment or release of the camera.
